How to Log Into a Linksys Router
There are two ways to connect to the router, either wireless or via cable.
To access your Linksys router via a cable connection, you must connect to the router via an Ethernet cable to a desktop computer or laptop.
Follow these steps:
Take one end of the Ethernet cable and connect it to the LAN port on the back of your Linksys router.
Take the other end of the Ethernet cable and plug it into your laptop or PC.
Plug the router’s power cord into an outlet and wait for 2 – 3 minutes while the router is in standby mode.
Open your web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla or Internet Explorer).
In address bar write 192.168.1.1 and press Enter
This is the address of the router and will automatically display the login screen.
The default IP for the Linksys Router is:
192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
On most Linksys models, the default router username and password are admin and admin. There are also some models that only require a password without a username when logging in.
